Up, the video game, leads players on a journey through the unexplored jungles of South America. Players can get a taste of all the four main characters, from the movie, throughout the game and can play as single-player or with a friend. The four playable characters include Carl the 78-year-old man who wants to get away, Russell the eight-year-old wilderness explorer, Dug the lovable dog whose thoughts are verbalized with the help of a special dog-collar and Kevin the prehistoric bird. The game also features one multiplayer level that allows up to four players to engage in an aerial battle.
The Up video game is being developed by THQ’s Heavy Iron Studios, which has previously been commended for their work revolving around video games based on Disney Pixar’s Ratatouille and Wall-E. The prices of the game have not yet been released but the game is expected to be released in the spring of 2009. And since the movie itself releases on May 29, 2009, the game could well be released after that date.
